| Brief description of the project |
The municipality of Napoli, in partnership with the Idis-Città della Scienza Foundation, promotes in the framework of the “Europe for Citizens” Programme,a participative initiative together with the citizens of 5 European countries on the migration policies, to collect their opinions,to develop their civic responsibilities,to establish a dialogue with members of the European institutions regarding the identified theme.
The project will use the methodology of social participation called "Open Space Technology".This choice is due to the simplicity to present it in the different partner
countries and to the opportunity guaranteed to the involved participants to express their ideas.
The project will carry out in 2 main phases:
1. At the national level, will be organized one OST for each partner country, involving a target group of citizens (minimum 50) to have their opinion on the proposed theme (the immigration) and collect their advices in terms of legality, occupation and integration of the immigrants in the European Union.
2. After the elaboration of the results, few representatives from each country (including some citizens) will meet in Brussels during a final event held in the European Parliament. During the meeting the conclusions of the discussions and the results reached will be presented to European institutions (Parliament, Commission, Council, etc) and representatives of NGOs.
A system of on-line consultation on the recommendations given by citizens in the national OST will also be organized in order to permit the participation of as many European citizens as possible. The results of the project will be divulgated through a report but also through a more communicative product (for example a comic novel). |
